the market is over saturated.
yeah, probably, especially now with the twilight series so popular. but you can still write it just for yourself. who cares if other people want to read another vampire story or not? you don’t need their approval to write a story.
As long as the storyline isn’t exactly like all the other vampire stories then I think you’re okay. You might have a problem if you’re trying to recreate Twilight or something.
It’s true that books like Twilight have set off this vamp-novel craze, but it’s not the vampires that make a novel cliche, it’s the plotline. If the plotline is too predictable, it *will* be stupid and cliche, but if you can make it unique and original and interesting and captivating, it will be a hit.
Let me know if you want help coming up such a plotline. I’ve been told I’m good at that. :]
With the Twilight series so popular now, I’d avoid even thinking of vampires. People might think you’re just a Stephanie Meyer wannabe, and you’d be compared to her amazing stories, instead of something original.
It depends on the story. But chances are, yeah, it probably is.
?M?
Ten years ago it would be original. Now? Its a drop of rain in a storm.
The key to writing about anything is to reinvent the genre. Vampires are so common these days that if you do not reinvent it in some way, make it your own, then the story will not sell.
